How It All Started

As a young woman, Robyne always enjoyed spending time at the beaches of Florida swimming in the ocean and combing the beaches for unique seashells. Over several decades she grew a large collection and started dabbling with various seashell craft ideas in her late 50's, from which her beautiful seashell flower designs were born. She made them for special friends and family members while also selling them locally at a few shops.

When her late husband Eugene was diagnosed with cancer and then died in 2021, and for almost a year after his passing, she stopped making the flowers and her bins of shells ended up in storage. In 2022 she moved in with her son, Nick, and daughter-in-law, Jacqueline, in New Bern, NC, who encouraged her to start making them again because of how much joy they brought her in the past. She taught Jacqueline how to make them, who in turn helped her launch her flowers online and promote themselves into a business. 

 

In late 2022 Salty Seashell Creations, Inc. was officially incorporated, and we continue to make each seashell design by hand.
